Stranded astronaut Taylor messages you in real time through your day, and your replies, tapped straight from the wrist, decide whether they live. Time called it the best game on the Apple Watch, and it holds 4.7 stars from 4,535 ratings.
The catch: it is reading rather than playing, the deliberate waits between messages are the point, and the last update was June 2022.

Best sequel. Taylor's fourth adventure, again written by Dave Justus, picks up on the other side of a black hole. Same format: a branching story in real time, with choices made from your iPhone, iPad or watch. 4.9 stars from 439 ratings, the best average of the series.
The catch: it is the most expensive game on this list, and it has not been updated since June 2022.

Best for replaying. A new hero, Arika, and the same real-time messages you answer from your watch or lock screen. After any ending you can rewind to an earlier choice and take the other branch. It is the most recently updated Lifeline, in June 2025.
The catch: its 4.4-star average is the lowest of the Lifeline games here.

Best building adventure. Gather materials, craft tools, build shelters and explore biomes underground and at night, in a block world that follows you across iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. It is the closest thing to Minecraft that reaches the wrist. 4.9 stars and updated September 2026.
The catch: the listing says the watch is for quick sessions, world checks and companion play; the real building happens on the bigger screens. 24 ratings is also a short track record.
