Is there a Tiny Wings for Apple Watch?

No. Tiny Wings has never had an Apple Watch version, and neither has Alto’s Adventure or Alto’s Odyssey. All three are iPhone games, all three are still sold, and none of them has ever shipped a watchOS release.

That leaves an odd gap. The slope-momentum genre is one of the few that would genuinely suit a small screen, because the whole game is one input. You hold, you release. There is nothing to aim and nothing to read.

Soar is our game, and it sits in that gap, so read the rest with that in mind. Most of what follows is about everyone else’s games.

What happened to flying games on Apple Watch

We counted every game on the US App Store that ships an Apple Watch component: 4,599 of them, of which 84% have not been updated in over two years. The flying corner is worse than average. Of the 81 watch games with a flight word in the title, 62 were last updated before 2024. That is 77%.

Most of them are Flappy Bird clones from the 2015 to 2017 window, when the original Apple Watch was new and everyone shipped something. Then the category went quiet for the better part of a decade.

What actually exists now

Every figure here was checked against the App Store on 21 August 2026.

The ratings column is lying to you

Stacky Bird has 21,183 ratings and a 4.7 average. It also ships an Apple Watch component. Put those two facts next to each other and you would reasonably conclude it is the most popular Apple Watch flying game by a distance.

Its App Store description never mentions watch gameplay. The only time the word “watch” appears is in the sentence “watch out for monsters and spikes”.

Those 21,183 ratings are iPhone ratings. The App Store counts ratings per app, not per platform, so a phone game with a watch complication and a phone game that plays properly on the wrist look identical in every public number. There is no way to separate them from outside.

This is not a knock on Stacky Bird, which is a good phone game. It is a warning about the numbers. When you see a watch game with thousands of ratings, assume the ratings came from the phone unless the listing says otherwise.

Applying that filter to the table above leaves three games that explicitly claim watch gameplay and are still maintained: Square Bird, Paper Glide, and ours. Bird Watch Game makes the claim and means it, but its last update was in May 2016, which was three watch generations and eleven watchOS versions ago.

So what is closest to Tiny Wings?

On mechanics, Soar. It uses the same core idea: hold to dive down a slope, release at the crest, and let the momentum you built carry you. Time it well and the landing slingshots you onward. Miss the line and you sink.

The catch: Soar released on 21 August 2026 and has no ratings yet, so you are taking a chance on an unknown quantity. It is 119.9 MB, which is large for a watch game, because the 17 biomes each carry their own art and music. The free tier gives you the Sunset Fields and the Desert; the rest is behind the Royal Pass subscription.

Paper Glide is worth a look if you want something different. It steers a paper plane through a procedural tunnel with the Digital Crown, so it is a precision game rather than a momentum game. It is $1.99, it is 2 MB, and it was released three weeks ago with no ratings.

Square Bird is a tapper. Stack eggs, clear obstacles. Closer to Flappy Bird than to Tiny Wings, and it works fine on the wrist.

If what you actually want is Tiny Wings itself, buy Tiny Wings. It is $2.99, it is still excellent fifteen years on, and no watch game is going to replace a game designed for a screen forty times larger. The reason to play something on your wrist is that your phone is in another room.

The honest state of the genre

Three maintained games that genuinely play on the watch, two of them released in the last month, is not a healthy category. It is a category that mostly emptied out and has started to refill.

That is worth knowing before you go looking. The App Store will happily show you two hundred results for “watch flying game” and most of them stopped being updated while the Apple Watch Series 2 was current.
